Affiliated Executes Cutting-Edge Dispatch Automation

Affiliated has successfully transitioned to the new “ASAP to PSAP” protocol for dispatching in areas where the interfacing is in place.

Richmond, Va., Cary, N.C., and Washington, D.C., are among the first areas to implement it. Our automation system now sends alarm information directly to dispatch agencies in those cities, speeding up processing time.

Richmond’s 911 system was one of the first public safety access points, or PSAPs, to implement the new system, and so far has processed more than 25,000 alarms with no telephone call or operator involvement. The system proved reliable even during an earthquake and a hurricane that disrupted 911 calls in the area.

As more areas and states develop the interfacing to allow this next generation of alarm processing, Affiliated is ready, and your customers will experience faster, more reliable emergency response.
