Credentials & Licenses

To provide the best possible monitoring service, we submit our service to the rigorous compliance and accreditation requirements of the security industry’s leading independent organizations and state licensing boards.

UL 2050

UL 2050 is the standard required for the installation and maintenance of high security intrusion systems at government and national defense facilities. The UL 2050 Certificate is proof that Affiliated Monitoring has met UL's most stringent standards.

UL 827

UL 827, the standard for central station alarm services, governs key aspects of the monitoring operation, including equipment, redundancy requirements, staffing level minimums, alarm response time and rules for responding to alarm events.

UL 827B

UL 827B builds upon the requirements of UL 827 but adds specific technical and procedure requirements for video monitoring. Affiliated Monitoring became the first third-party monitoring center in the United States to attain this listing in 2018.

TMA Five Diamond

The Monitoring Association (TMA) Five Diamond certificate signifies that Affiliated Monitoring has met the five key criteria that measure performance and quality, not only in facilities and redundancy but also in operating procedures, such as staff training and management.

HIPAA Compliance

HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act) compliance means that Affiliated Monitoring adheres to the strict guidelines for the storage and use of patient health data as required in the United States.

FDNY Approved

Affiliated Monitoring is approved by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) to monitor fire systems in New York City, a certification that is notoriously difficult to achieve in our industry. FDNY Approved monitoring centers must exceed the requirements of UL standards in many ways, pass audits by FDNY and provide intensive training for its monitoring agents, who are also administered tests by the FDNY.

FM Approved

FM approval is often required by insurance companies to ensure their policyholders have alarm systems that are monitored by a central station that meets the industry's recognized standards. Meeting the requirements of both FM and UL demonstrates our commitment to excellence.

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)

Affiliated Monitoring is a long-time supporter of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Established in 1896, NFPA's mission is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating more than 300 consensus codes and standards, research, training and education.
